What is PPC or Pay Per Click?

Pay-per-click (PPC for short) is when you purchase ads to display in the search engines when a user enters your target keywords. These ads usually appear at the top of google, yahoo or bing page, the right hand side of the page, or sometimes at the bottom of the page, typically under the header ‘Ads’ or ‘Sponsored Listings’. Pay-per-click is an internet method of advertising where you bid on certain keywords and only pay when somebody clicks on your ad.

A word of warning: For a new Pay Per Click or PPC campaign you should expect to burn some amount of money here. Though, there are some pros in doing Pay Per View or PPC advertising.

Fast results: You can turn a campaign on and start seeing traffic that same day compare this to SEO or article writing when it will take you weeks or even months before you start seeing traffic to your website. It is more scientific. You can easily analyze all aspects of your campaign, how your ads display in the search engines, split-test your keyword and hone your ads to perfection.

Pay-per-click or PPC affiliate marketing is an advertising model commonly used by internet marketers to direct traffic to websites, this is where the advertisers pay the publisher when the ad is clicked. The Marketers receive revenue from the actions that website visitors including clicks, impressions, and lead.

How I Chose The Offers: Pay Per Click Affiliate

The first step I do is select a couple of offers from CPA networks. Then I will check the payout and the conversion rate of these offers. Like how much is the payout, EPC, Conversion Rate and Type. See example below:

Like for this offer of home service for home security system . This only require people to submit their information (Valid Lead/Quote Submission). From my experience, a single opt in usually has a better conversion rate than double opt in even though it has a lower payout. I always start with more than one offer because I don’t know which one is good until I send traffic to it.

As shown below, these are some of my campaign results showing the number of unique clicks, raw clicks, number of conversion, conversion rate, EPC and how much they pay me per conversion.

To be frank with you, I rarely check the bid price for my campaigns so what I normally do is, I placed the bid price at the minimum for every single target. The bid price will be depending on the set of keyword or group of keywords.

I just set a minimum budget for each campaign and let the campaigns run for a while to receive enough traffic to see what works well and what’s not. I don’t determine whether the campaign or keyword is good until I see the first conversion from it. A good campaign for me is when it gives a steady conversion rate and EPC.
